Terms & Conditions
Please read the following contract and terms carefully, discussing any concerns or enquiries with your Listener.
Your Listener will encourage you to take all the steps you can to become empowered in your own healing process.
Your Listener will provide you with a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your feelings and concerns.
You will not be judged and advice will not be given, but guidance will be provided with the aim to empower you to develop and progress.
You will be treated with respect, care and empathy. This is vital to creating a strong and effective therapeutic relationship.
Fees will always be discussed before booking appointments to ensure clients are well informed.
Payments can be made by bank transfer or cash. Bank transfers must be made 48hrs before the date of the appointment and cash must be paid on the day.
Confidentiality
Privacy and Confidentiality are paramount, although there are the following exceptions:
If you disclose that you or someone else is at risk, we will discuss this and I may need to report it externally.
If you disclose involvement or awareness of illegal activities such as acts of terrorism, I will need to report it externally.
Whilst you are receiving sessions at Lotus Listening. I will make notes in the following ways:
I record your contact details. This allows me to manage your sessions and keep you informed.
I record your GP information. If I become concerned about your well-being, I may inform your GP so that they can also be involved in your care. I will always aim to discuss this with you beforehand.
If you have sessions online, I record details of where you are located, in case of an emergency during your session.
I will write a summary of what was discussed in each session. Therefore, I have an ongoing record of your sessions, which allows me to provide continuity of care.
All information is securely held and can only be accessed by myself. It can only be shared in the following circumstances:
Where you, the client request or give permission for information to be shared.
Where the information you, the client has disclosed is too serious for confidentiality to be maintained, including where your Listener considers that you or others may be at risk of immediate harm.
If I am required to do so by law – in the case of a crime being committed etc.
Ethical Standards
I am a qualified CPCAB Listener and I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework
These standards are available at www.bacp.co.uk.
I am also DBS checked.
Managing sessions
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long. I will endeavour to start and finish sessions on time.
Sessions will be scheduled on a weekly or fortnightly basis; the regularity of sessions is an important aspect of establishing a successful therapeutic relationship.
If at any point you cannot attend an appointment or need to change your appointment please email lotuslisteningservice@gmail.com
Should you wish to cancel or rearrange an appointment at least 48hrs notice must be given.
Unfortunately appointments cancelled within 24hrs of anticipated attendance will be charged, as costs will have been incurred and alternative clients cannot be scheduled.
Your Listener will have the right to end your session if any alcohol or non prescribed substance has been taken by yourself prior to your session if this is likely to prevent a beneficial Listening session.
Data protection
Clients personal details will not be shared and will be managed in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2016.
